Attacks 'racist'The Foreign Minister, Stephen Smith, who is on a three-day visit to India, has admitted to the New Delhi media that some recent attacks on Indians in Australia had racist overtones, amid reports on Indian television of a fresh assault on a South Asian man in Melbourne. Australia had "zero tolerance" towards assaults on Indians, or any other group, he said.Threat to lawsuitThe former WA police minister Gordon Hill has declared himself bankrupt, a move which could end a $5 million lawsuit brought against him by 79 victims of the Firepower collapse. Mr Hill, a former director of Firepower companies, was one of several prominent businessmen whose family companies made millions of dollars when they sold their Firepower shares to small investors.
